Special Announcement about
Changes at Accessories, etc.
Dear Friends of Accessories, etc.
Rumors seem to be flying so I wanted to let you all know what is really and honestly happening at Accessories.
Three years ago, I decided to double my showroom at Liberty Center. In retrospect, it was not the best decision as the coziness and warmth of the original Accessories never spilled into the new space.
From the beginning in 2000, the one thing I did not want to be was just another “furniture store.” My original goals in the little store on Route 512 was to offer a personalized service to my customers for interior design and to be the Lehigh Valley source for accessories… lamps, mirrors, pictures… the “finishing touches” for your homes.
I am returning to my roots and going back to the original size we first occupied at Liberty Center. I am “right-sizing.”
With this new right size, we will once again offer our “Finishing Touch” home visits, adding the jewelry to your rooms. We’ll continue to carry furniture – key pieces from our great manufacturers for you to touch and feel for quality and comfort.
Our interior design service will be better than ever. We PROMISE to help you find exactly the style and look you want for your home. We have three (and I make four) talented and caring designers on staff and we will offer exceptional services and products – beautiful window treatments, unusual quality furniture pieces, reupholstering, etc.
The store will be brimming with new and exciting merchandise. Stay tuned for a grand re-opening party to celebrate! I am so looking forward to seeing you all in our beautiful, right-sized, customer-happy store.
Bigger is not always better.
I thank you for your past patronage and compliments the last seven years.
Sincerely,
Gail Dunn

Accessories wins second national ARTS award
If you love what you do, everyday workdays offer moments of joy. I love what I do and guess it shows… because someone noticed.
In 2005, Accessories, etc. was nominated for and won the east/atlantic region in the ARTS (Accessories Resource Team) Award competition. The awards are presented at a gala event each January during the Dallas International Gift and Home Accessories Market.
In October 2007, I was notified that Accessories, etc. was nominated for the second time for this award. Nominations are submitted anonymously, so it’s a nice surprise to be nominated.
So on January 19, 2008, I had another moment of joy. Not only were we nominated again… WE WON… AGAIN!
The ARTS Awards is the premiere national program dedicated to the home decorative accessories industry. The ARTS award is presented each year at the Dallas Market Center, the world’s largest wholesale merchandise resource with more than five million square feet of marketplace offering products ranging from home furnishings and decorative accessories to apparel, textiles and fashion accessories.
Specifically, we won our region (east/atlantic) in the Home Accent Specialty Store. My retail competition was “24e.” in Savannah, Georgia and “Celadon Home” in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
Judges included Kelly Ryan Kegans (Better Homes and Gardens), Kristin Langerak DeMesse (Winterthur Museum & Country Estate), Cheryl A. Van Duyne (ASID interior designer), and Edward Walker (Trading Spaces, TLC) – a serious design group.
I love what I do; I love my store; and I have to thank my staff… from the creative interior designers, customer service responsible for special orders and untangling the knots that invariably happen along the way, to accounting who keep all the financial ducks in a row… for helping me to keep my dream alive and living it along with me. Let’s see what tomorrow holds.
